Story Line:
Just settling down in their new home, parents Josh and Renée Lambert, their two sons Dalton and Foster, experience terror when their eldest son falls off of a ladder, hits his head and slips into a coma. After reviewing with the doctors and finding out their son has no head trauma, the two parents have absolutely no idea what has happened to their son. After horrible, indecipherable events start to take place, the two take the help of Elise Rainer, a paranormal investigator, who brings the family sinister and horrifying news about their boy that makes a coma the least of their worries…
Review:
My first impression of this movie was that it looked promising from the preview. My excitement was piqued since it had been a while since I had seen a decent horror film. The scares were not too bad, but I was expecting some. That’s not true. I was scared out of my mind watching this movie. There has never been a scary movie that caused me to jump more than this one. Likewise, the audience was spooked. The scene was filled with people jumping out of their seats and even a few screams were heard.
The best thing about this film is that it actually scares you instead of grossing you out. There is no doubt that the images are frightening. It doesn’t waste any time creeping you out in Insidious. Immediately after the opening credits, the scares begin. In spite of my expectations, I found this to be among the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. Even so, I don’t think I’d have the guts to watch it again!
